OIM Consulting, specialists in building front-line leader capability with a stronghold in the mining sector, recently welcomed Lee Ann Da Cruz to the company in the role of new Business Development Principal.

With a Gordon Institute of Business (GIBS) qualification in Consulting Services: procurement, monitoring and performance management under her belt – and having previously worked for international consultancies such as Renoir Group and Proudfoot Consulting – Lee Ann brings with her almost two decades of experience and a stellar track record, specialising in the natural resource sector.

A strategist with a proven track record in leading high-impact business identification and development strategies, Lee Ann’s new role will see her focus on the creation of robust business pipelines, change management programmes, client support strategies and partnership development.

Says Lee Ann: “It’s been said before, but people are our most valuable asset. How do we demonstrate that we value something? We invest in it, we develop it, and we take exceptional care of it. Until we truly begin to understand what motivates and inspires people in the workplace, we won’t be able to really appreciate the true potential of our workforce in terms of productivity and the ROI we so avidly seek to achieve. I look forward to helping OIM’s clients unlock this potential.”

Lee Ann, who is based in Johannesburg, will work alongside OIM’s Managing Director Arjen de Bruin, leading new business acquisitions across the mining industry. In addition, she will also be instrumental in the company’s exploration of new territories and industries.

Says De Bruin, “While OIM is now well-established within the local mining industry, we are intent on expanding into the rest of Africa, and have also identified Australia and North and South America as key regions. Moreover, we plan to bolster our presence within the financial services industry, while forging new inroads into the manufacturing, oil and gas and retail sectors. Lee Ann will play a strategic role in driving this agenda.

“Lee Ann joins us after working for globally-renowned companies, where she was pivotal in increasing their sales and strengthening their positions across key markets. We are excited to welcome her onboard OIM’s senior leadership team, and believe that she will add immense value to both our business and our clients.”
