Durban is a coastal city in the Eastern part of South Africa in Kwazulu-Natal province. It is well known for its African, Indian and colonial influencers. Durban has the most beautiful attractions one can be pleased and content about. It has a lot of attractions for tourists to try out, here are the five best destinations you can try out in summer:

Durban botanic gardens– I mean it is summer and both plants and flowers are glooming and blossoming. Therefore you can visit the Durban botanic gardens which is the oldest public institution and Africa’s oldest surviving botanical gardens. Even if you are not a fan of plants or flowers, you wouldn’t miss having some good picnic under a majestic tree with friends, family or even better with your partner. Also to add to your knowledge about plants wouldn’t be a train smash, you can learn about flowers, tree identification, local sacred plants and rare plants while visiting the botanical gardens.

Golden Mile– the Golden Mile has to be one of the most popular attractions in Durban and for a tourist to explore it would be a bonus. The Golden Mile it is the multifaceted stretch of Durban Coastline, it is a home to some of Durban’s best beaches which are the South Beach- for swimming and surfing, Addington Beach- best for swimming, surfing and paddling last but not least the Bay of Plenty – it has an added advantage of swimming. The beaches are protected by shark nets and life guards, so there is no need to worrying about your safety while you are in your bikini’s and enjoying what life has to offer.

Ushaka Marine World- It is the world class entertainment theme park that offers a range of activities and excitement. Ushaka Marine World accommodates both adults and children with the Ushaka Beach, a variety of swimming pools and a range of water slides to choose from. You can also check out the Ushaka Sea World that has a variety of marine tanks, a dangerous creature’s exhibit, a penguin exhibit as well as dolphin and seal shows. After all this fun activities you will have restaurants to choose from, depending on your sense of taste.

Umngeni River Bird Park- It is one of the greatest attractions one can visit in the city, with a big sense of nature. It has walk-through aviaries, birds put on perches, wonderful green vegetation, interesting waterfalls and rock faces. What is more interesting in the park is the free flight bird show it includes endangered species like the Wattled Crane as well as owls, storks – this is highly recommended and educational. There are also birds from North and South America, Africa, Indonesia and Australia therefore you will get to up-close see and learn about a variety of birds from different parts of the world.

Florida Road– If you want to explore different kinds of food and drinks while on vacation, you should definitely take a walk to the Florida Street with an empty stomach. You will come back full and entertained as you will see different kinds of people offering unique and scrumptious food. Florida road needs a tourist to at least take leisure strolls for at least three days because the range of food offered there cannot be tasted all in one day. There is ‘The Firehouse’ which serves some artisanal pizza for pick up or delivery, ‘Dropkick Murphys’- they use dry ice machine to create mouth-watering drinks and more. Visit the Florida road and you won’t be disappointed.
