It is always an excitement to know what German models will be launched by the BMW Company especially for all the German model lovers so that they can get the opportunity to upgrade to a new fascinating and more advanced model. BMW will be releasing its first ever XM hybrid SUV and the new BMW M2.

The new BMW M2 continues with the brands tradition and that is being a sporty will all the compact dimensions, it encapsulates the greatness of driving with its compact dimensions and the six cylinder in-line engine. The engine setup found in the BMW M2 it is the same as the ones in the M3 and M4.

BMW stated that the South African buyers will have an option of a six speed manual transmission. The new M2 boasts 66Kw more power than the previous M2 allowing the second generation to sprint to 100km/h in 4.1 seconds and 200km/h in 13.5 seconds in automatic guise.

The 2023 BMW M2 is all about the driving, the auto transmission offers three different modes. The steering can be set between comfort and sport also electromagnetically controlled adaptive suspension standard.

The new BMW M2 will launch with a price tag of R 1 503 975 and it has been confirmed for South Africa and it will be arriving in the second quarter of 2023.

Moving to the first ever impressive, interesting and electrified BMW XM SUV: it is the German model that is the high performance vehicle with an electrified drive system and the first standalone M model since the BMW M1 was launched many years ago.

 The XM is a plug in hybrid and gets its power from a 4.4- litreV8 engine in combination with a battery powered motor, while it’s claimed to have a combined fuel consumption of 1.5-1.6 l/100km.

The hybrid SUV generates 480Kw AND 800 Nm- 360Kw and 650Nm of that coming from fossil fuels and the rest from electricity- hitting 100km/h in 4.3 seconds up to a limited 250km/h.

The BMW XM has three different looks of its exterior which you can choose from:

1. BMW XM Essence- R 3 400 000, 00

  • Seat heating front and rear
  • Massage function front

2. BMW XM Balance- R3 436 200, 00

  • 23” M light-alloy wheels M Bicolour
  • BMW individual leather ‘Merino”
  • Carbon Black Metallic

3. BMW XM Signature- R 3 437 900, 00

  • 23” M light alloy wheels M Bicolour
  • Cape York Green metallic
  • BMW individual leather ‘Merino”

The interior of the new BMW XM is tremendously out of this world, looking at their illuminated headliner that has a three dimensional prism structure, the distinctive ambient light provides a splendid presentation of the various light designs.

The M lounge offers a unique sensation of spaciousness, the one piece seating area and details such as the diamond shaped structures in the headrests and stitching pattern convey comfort and luxury.

Last but not least the exclusive vintage leather that incorporates the interior, it fascinates with its natural structure and texture vintage character. The material is used for the very first time exclusively in the new BMW XM.

Since there is a rise in global warming, the BMW group is trying to sustain the future with its innovations. The circular economy is the key to conserving resources and reducing carbon emissions. ”For us circularity in particular means that at the end of their use phase, vehicles are used as a source of raw materials for new cars” says the BMW Group. Their vehicles are already made from up to 30 percent recycled and reused materials on average and they would like increasing that amount. Therefore it is thoughtful of the BMW group to maintain and sustain the economic success to reduce the harmfulness of the carbon dioxide emissions in the atmosphere. The BMW group is also a member of the Science- Based Targets Initiative, this shows that the group is trying at its best to come up innovations and ideas to reduce the harmful impacts their cars might come up with
